Legal Files Software Inc., a leading case and matter management software company, today announced the Society of Counsel Representing Accused Persons, a private, non-profit public defense firm, has selected the web/browser version of Legal Files to manage its cases, calendaring and documents.

With offices in Seattle and Kent, Wash., Society of Counsel was looking for case management software specifically for public defenders to replace their legacy system. The organization evaluated many options and ultimately decided Legal Files was the right choice because of its customizable features and ability to meet the firm’s data conversion requirements. Society of Counsel provides a vast array of legal counsel to defendants in criminal matters, to adults and youth in dependency cases, as well as to clients in contempt of court and juvenile offense cases. With such a wide scope of services, the firm was looking for case management software that would provide flexibility to meet the needs of the numerous types of cases. Further, Legal Files stood out from the competition because of its web/browser-based version of the application, which allows Society of Counsel staff to access data from any location.
