Users find new application helpful in monitoring contracts and other deadlines

Legal Files Software Inc., a leading case and matter management software company, has created a new notification service application that monitors user-defined dates and deadlines and sends email notifications for any number of key dates or milestones, which provides users an improved way to handle important follow up on contracts and matters.

The Legal Files Notification Service was originally developed as an add-on to Legal Files’ contract management capabilities, allowing users to send e-mail notifications for important contract dates such as reviews, renewals, payments due, rate escalations or expirations. However, Legal Files users have also found this service helpful in a variety of situations beyond contract-related dates, including deadlines for depositions, briefs, court dates, statute dates and the like. The service is now available to all Legal Files users.

After initial configuration, the service automatically sends email notifications for milestone dates to any combination of both internal and external contacts based on the role of the individual linked to a contract or matter in Legal Files. The service allows for an unlimited number of alerts to be sent out based on a specified schedule of days before or after a designated date. It also provides an option to enter standard “boilerplate” text, which is used as a template for each email alert. When the notification service runs, a designated user receives a status report for all alerts sent.
