North Carolina Secretary of State's Securities Division
Chooses Legal Files

Oct. 26, 2011

Legal Files Software, Inc., a leading developer of case and matter management software, today announced that the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State’s Securities Division has purchased its popular web/browser version of its case management software. The Securities Division regulates all aspects of the securities industry at the state level.

Legal Files Software, Inc. was awarded the contract based on various factors, including the software’s user-friendly interface and its interface with GroupWise, an email messaging system from Novell. The state agency wanted a case management solution to meet the needs of its 45 users, which consist of attorneys, paralegals, support staff and investigators. A key factor in the selection was Legal Files’ ability to enhance the agency’s current software investment. Legal Files e-mail integration with GroupWise gives the agency the ability to save sent and received e-mail to a case or matter stored in Legal Files, creating one, central location for all case and matter related information. In addition, Legal Files offers two-way synchronization for GroupWise appointments, tasks and contacts.

“We were pleased to find a case management solution that integrates with our environment,” said Zesely Haislip, Jr., a Senior Enforcement Attorney and the Director of the ARS Project Group at the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Securities Division.

“We’ve had many years of experience working with public sector customers,” said John Kanoski, CEO at Legal Files Software Inc. “Over the years, we have learned what issues are the most important factors in efficiently operating a government legal department. We look forward to providing this knowledge and expertise to the Securities Division.”
