LegalServices Network awards contract to Legal Files Software, Inc.

April 1, 2009

Legal Files Software, Inc. has been selected to provide its leading case and office management software to the LegalServices Network (LSN), a group of six independent legal services organizations that includes Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Maine’s oldest and largest legal aid provider.

A statewide, non-profit provider of free civil legal services to low-income Maine residents, Pine Tree Legal Assistance is part of the network that also includes the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project, Legal Services for the Elderly, Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic (a project of the University of Maine School of Law), Maine Equal Justice Partners, and the Maine Bar Foundation.

Legal Files Software, Inc. was awarded the contract after LSN evaluated the company’s response to a RFI for a Legal Case Management System. A key factor in the contract award was Legal Files’ capacity to provide multiple, independent agencies with the ability to share a single database of staff and attorneys, while at the same time segregating each agency’s case data from all the other agencies.

“Despite all the work that goes along with a system conversion, I'm really looking forward to Legal Files,” said Laura Henderson, Systems Analyst. “Having such a full-featured and flexible system in place will definitely be in the best interest of our staff and the clients we serve. Legal Files has long demonstrated its commitment to the legal services community, and we look forward to working with an organization that shares our goals.”

Additionally, Legal Files Software, Inc. will also provide assistance to implement and integrate the new application to support LSN’s operations. The project will include more than 100 end users and involve multiple office locations throughout Maine. Implementation is targeted for this summer.
