University of Manitoba Implements Legal Files Software

Legal Files “has provided us with an unprecedented ability to stay organized and to collaborate with other team members.”

Springfield, Ill., Aug. 29, 2016 –The University of Manitoba has implemented Legal Files, the leading case and matter management system from Legal Files Software, Inc. Because of Legal Files’ built-in customization tools which allow it to meet unique and changing needs, the software was implemented in both the University’s Human Resources Department and its Office of Fair Practices and Legal Affairs.

Greg Juliano, the University’s Associate Vice-President (Human Resources), said “This tool has provided us with an unprecedented ability to stay organized and to collaborate with other team members.”  Naomi Andrew, the University’s General Counsel, noted, “We have noticed a significant improvement in our ability to manage a very heavy case load.”

Legal Files Software, Inc. was awarded the contract earlier this year after the University of Manitoba evaluated the company’s response to a Request for Proposal for an Office/Matter Management Software Solution to meet the functional and technical requirements of both departments. Human Resources manages a large caseload of files primarily relating to collective bargaining, labor and employment disputes, accommodation, policy development and other labor and employment matters. Similarly, the Office of Fair Practices and Legal Affairs manages a huge caseload of litigation matters, contractors and solicitor work, policy development and complaint investigations case management software.

With Legal Files’ workflow and productivity tools now in place, the University can expect to increase legal case and matter management efficiencies and more effectively manage a large (and growing) volume of document using Legal Files’ built-in document management system. The University is using the Enterprise configuration of Legal Files which enables the University to have a single database providing several distinct, separate and secure “views” of data. A flexible and centralized system that makes even remote collaboration easier, Legal Files enables you to manage all types of cases, share all relevant information more easily and have the most-up-to-date information available to everyone

In addition to software licenses, Legal Files Software, Inc. provided a data conversion, onsite configuration assistance and training services, project management, remote installation support, and maintenance and support services.
