City of San Angelo Taps Legal Files Software

“What stood out for us was that Legal Files, spoke our language, government language.”

The City of San Angelo, Texas, has entered into a contract with Legal Files Software, Inc. to license and implement its legal software and document system for two municipal departments, the City Attorney and Planning & Development Services.

“It was a lengthy process,” City Attorney Theresa James says of the selection. “We looked at many systems, conducted a lot research and narrowed the field to three primary vendors,” she said. “What stood out for us was that Legal Files, spoke our language, government language. We also felt that Legal Files was ideal for our situation since we will be able to set up and manage Legal Files differently for the different departments.”

The City Attorney and Planning & Development Services plan to use the Enterprise configuration of Legal Files. Legal Files Enterprise allows individual departments or locations to share a single database, simplifying maintenance and reducing costs, while providing the ability to customize and manage Legal Files differently for two or more departments. This unique configuration also allows, in this case, two distinct, separate and secure “views” of the data.

When Legal Files’ workflow and productivity tools are in place, the departments can expect to increase contract file management efficiencies and more effectively manage a large volume of documents.
