Department of Corrections Implements Legal Files Software for General Counsel’s Office

“The team from Legal Files was indispensable in guiding us, and working with us to achieve this goal.”

Legal Files Software, Inc. today announced that the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has successfully implemented Legal Files, the leading legal case management software, for the agency’s General Counsel’s office.

“We’ve taken the time and made the effort to learn and configure the legal tracking system,” DOC General Counsel David Cincotta said. “The team from Legal Files was indispensable in guiding us, and working with us to achieve this goal. It’s going to take a bit more time before we’re really comfortable with the new system, but from Day One with Legal Files, we could already tell that we were light years ahead of where we were.”

The General Counsel’s Office is organized into two divisions; both now using Legal Files to increase operational efficiencies. Attorneys in the General Counsel’s Legal Division represent the agency in employment-related cases, review all formal discipline action, defend the agency in lawsuits filed by inmates, and assist the Litigation Division and the Criminal Appeals Division of the Attorney General’s Office, along with other responsibilities. The Administrative Review Unit is responsible for reviewing, investigating and responding to inmate misconduct and grievance appeals, which are submitted for final review.

Under the agreement, Legal Files Software provided project matter management, installation assistance and training, along with the licensing of its widely popular Legal Files solution.
