Fair Work Center Taps Legal Files for Case Management System

“Even in the few months we’ve been using Legal Files, we’ve already experienced tremendous improvement in efficiency and productivity.”

The Fair Work Center, a non-profit organization in Seattle, contracted with Legal Files Software, Inc. which has provided a legal case management system and related implementation services for its civil legal aid clinic. The clinic, operating in partnership with Seattle University and the University of Washington schools of law, advises and represents workers in accessing their rights under local, state and federal labor and employment law.

“We used an open source database for a number of years for data collection and reporting,” Staff Attorney Katherine E. Cameron said, “but we’ve outgrown it. We needed a true case management system; we needed Legal Files.”

In addition to lawyer case management, Legal Files provides several other key components necessary for the successful operation of the clinic, including client intake tools and automated document generation. “As you would expect, we use lots of forms,” Cameron said. “With Legal Files’ templates and document assembly, we save a ton of staff time.”

Legal Clinic and Intake Manager Danielle Kim added, “The Legal Files staff has been very supportive and accessible during our transition. Even in the few months we’ve been using Legal Files, we’ve already experienced tremendous improvement in efficiency and productivity.”
