University implements Legal Files Software for General Counsel & Human Resources

“Based on our disparate needs and the flexibility we required, Legal Files was the best choice for us”

The University of the District of Columbia has implemented Legal Files, the leading legal matter management system from Legal Files Case Law Software, Inc., for use by its Office of University General Counsel and its Office of Human Resources, the software company announced today.

The Office of General Counsel is using Legal Files to more efficiently manage and track such data as agreements, claims, contracts and Freedom of Information Act requests, as well as litigated files and outside counsel costs. Files and documents such as official personnel file documents, settlement documents and employment verification will be managed within Legal Files by users in the Office of Human Resources.

“Based on our disparate needs and the flexibility we required, Legal Files was the best choice for us,” according to University General Counsel Avis Marie Russell. “We first saw Legal Files at a conference and we liked what we saw. We then talked with many other universities about what they used. We did our research and found exactly what we needed.”

In addition to the licensing of its software, Legal Files Software, Inc. also supplied implementation assistance, project management and training for the implementation at the University of the District of Columbia.
