“Legal Files is incredibly flexible allowing it to be used in different areas. Yet it’s customizable so each area can accomplish what it needs.”
Legal Files Software, Inc. today announced the third successful deployment of its matter and attorney office management software at the University of Manitoba.
“Legal Files is incredibly flexible, allowing it to be used in different areas. Yet it’s customizable so each area can accomplish what it needs,” explains the University’s Anitra Squires who led the latest Legal Files deployment.
The most recent implementation was for the Office of Professional Requirements, part of the University’s Max Rady College of Medicine where Squires serves as the Confidential Intake Officer. “The purpose of our Office is to ensure a safe learning environment for our teaching programs,” she said.
“We had been using a handful of Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to track various matters,” Squires said. (Legal Files Implementation Specialist) “Jill McDevitt provided brilliant support and training to us. Now, with Legal Files, we are more efficient,” Squires said. “We are using Legal Files to track and manage email, documents and phone logs. We also use it to track and manage the information we receive through our feedback mechanisms and the learning environment assessments we conduct. Plus, reporting on any of that data is much faster. Legal Files is working great for our department.”
The first implementation occurred in 2015 when Human Resources and the Office of Fair Practices and Legal Affairs selected Legal Files, through a formal, competitive bid process, as their office/corporate matter management software. In 2018, the University’s Information Services and Technology group became a Legal Files customer, deciding to use Legal Files to track its projects and certifications, along with other information.
The University of Manitoba, a public research university founded in 1877, maintains a reputation as a top research-intensive post-secondary educational institution and conducts more research annually than any other university in the region.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in the legal software industry this year, Legal Files Software, Inc. is the developer of Legal Files, a legal case, legal matter management system and advocate case management system, used by tens of thousands of users in higher education, government agencies, corporate legal departments, legal services organizations and leading law firms throughout the U.S. and Canada.
